What is included in my registration? 

Your registration for the race includes:
- An entry to the 8k run or the Country Mile walk.
- A Smokehouse Run & Country Mile belt buckle medal.
- A Smokehouse Run & Country Mile cowboy hat.
- An 'Ain’t My First Rodeo' runner’s tee.
- Access to live country music, BBQ, and a cold one at the post-race celebration (drink provided if participant is over 21).
- Race photos to remember the day.

Are there start corrals?

Yep, your spot in the race will be based on the pace per mile you entered when you signed up.

Can I check my gear on race day?

Yep, gear check will be available, partner!

Will there be restrooms at the start/finish line and on the course?

You bet! Restrooms will be available at the start/finish area and along the course, so you’ll be all set.

What are the A.W.D. (Athletes with Disabilities) guidelines and rules?

- Epix Events happily welcomes all athletes to participate in our events. Athletes with Disabilities (AWD) include, but are not limited to the flowing athletes, Blade Runners, Visually Impaired Runners, Adaptive / Guided Runners, Pushed Athletes, Push Rim, Racing Chair and Hand Cycles.

- To participate as an AWD athlete, you must notify the Race Director of your participation a minimum of 21 days in advance. This allows our staff to ensure the safety and security of each athlete on the course and prepare the ES (early starters) corral for athletes. To ensure your spot and be approved as an AWD participant please contact info@smokehouserun.com. Should there be a duo team, a coupon code may be provided for the pusher/coach by emailing info@smokehouserun.com.

What time does the race start?

The race kicks off at 8 am on September 13th, 2025. Be ready to saddle up!

Can I walk the Smokehouse Run?

Yep, you can walk the Country Mile, and for the Smokehouse Run 8k, you’ll need to keep an 18-minute pace.

Can I run/walk with headphones?

For sure, you can run or walk with headphones. Let the music fuel your stride!

Can I run/walk with a stroller?

Strollers aren’t allowed on the course, but don’t let that keep ya from joinin’ in the fun!

Can I run/walk with pets?

No pets allowed on the course, but we’re still lookin’ forward to seein’ you there!

Can I participate with a stroller, scooter, or bike?

The use of wheeled devices is limited to approved AWD wheelchairs, handcycles, and duo team participants only. Strollers, skateboards, rollerblades, unauthorized bicycles, or any other wheeled devices ain’t allowed. For the safety of all our participants, athletes who need a wheelchair, handcycle, crutches, or guide must follow the Epix Events Athletes with Disabilities Event Rules. They’ll also need written approval from the Race Director at least 21 days before the event.

When does registration open?

Ready to have some fun? Registration opens April 17th, 2025 for the Smokehouse Run & Country Mile!

Where is the start line?

We’re kickin’ things off at Soldier Field right at the South Parking Lot!

Where is the finish line?

The run wraps up at Soldier Field South Parking Lot. Get ready to celebrate!

Is there an age limit?

The Smokehouse Run’s for folks 8 and up. The Country Mile welcomes all ages just make sure young’uns under 8 are with a guardian or adult. Alcohol will be served at the party only to participants 21 and older with a valid ID on race day.

What is the course time limit?

In the Smokehouse Run, you’ll need to keep an 18-minute per mile pace. For the Country Mile walk, you’ve got a bit more time with a 30-minute per mile pace.

Will there be aid stations?

You’ll find 2 aid stations on the 8k course to help you along the way.

Registration Info

Can I change my distance?

Wanna switch from the 8k to the Country Mile walk or the other way around? No trouble at all! Just log into your account on epixtix.com to make the change. There’s no cost for movin’ from the 8k to the Country Mile, but if you’re changin’ from the Country Mile to the 8k, you’ll pay the price difference.

I didn't receive my QR code in my email. What should I do?

Your QR code will be ready and waitin’ in your registration view. Just log into your account or use your confirmation code to pull it up. If you’re havin’ trouble just stop by packet pick-up and we can look it up by your last name!

Can I defer my ticket to next year?

Sorry to say, all tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. But we sure do want to see all your smiling, dancing faces on race day!

Can I transfer my entry?

Yep. Product changes will be available at epixtix.com by logging into your account or using your registration confirmation code. This feature will be up and runnin’ shortly after we launch.

Can I register on race day?

Sorry y’all, there won’t be any race day registration, make sure to sign up ahead of time!

How do I change my T-shirt size?

Yep, you can make changes up to 20 days before race day. Just head back over to epixtix.com and log into your account to get it done.

Packet Pickup

Where can I pick up my packet (location & dates)?

Packet pick-up will be available at locations in the city and out in the suburbs. Dates and times are comin’ soon, so hang tight!

Can a friend pick up my packet?

If your friend’s helpin’ out, just hand ‘em your confirmation or QR code and you’re all set.

Do I need my confirmation code to pick up my packet?

It’ll speed up the process, but don’t worry we can always look up participants by last name if needed.

Can I add packet mailing after I register?

Sure thing! Product changes will be available on epixtix.com through your account login or by entering your registration confirmation code. It’ll be up and ready shortly after launch.

Awards

Are there overall awards?

Heck ya! We’ll have a presentation for the top 3 male and female overall winners.

Will there be a presentation after the race?

You bet! It’ll be announced from the main stage for all to hear!

Do all participants receive a medal?

For sure, every single participant will earn a medal for their hard work!

Virtual Race

Can I participate virtually?

You bet, you can register for the race virtually and join in from wherever you’re at!

What is the virtual race?

A virtual race lets you join in on the Smokehouse Run & Country Mile even if you can’t make it to the in-person event. You can take part from wherever you are!

Where can I participate virtually?

You can join in from anywhere, partner!

Will I receive a packet if I participate virtually?

Absolutely, your registration gets you:

How will I get my packet?

Your packet’ll be mailed right to the address you provided when you registered.

How do I swap my shirt if it doesn't fit?

Unfortunately, virtual participants won’t be able to change shirt sizes, but we’re here to help with any sizing suggestions!
